However, this is to remind all sailors that great times on the water and the beach have happened this year and to encourage them to have faith as the summer winds are coming!! Just remember that great feeling of freedom while skimming along on the flat sea, twin wiring, when stress melts away...!
Thankfully this year's regatta took place and we all had a fabulous weekend of sailing with present and returning sailing comrades making it a really social event. We had rain, sun,and wind ranging from 20 knots to 5. Varied conditions allowed many teams to take part in the great beach activities of putting, volley ball, petanque, sand castles, futbalito, and shop at the stalls, have coffee and BUILD A RAFT for the captains race. This race was a team effort with multiple boat designs and serious design work. Every team put in great efforts to get a raft on the water, but in the end it came down to F16s, Dave and Surfing T's Tony vT fighting it out. Tony was the only boat to get round the course - well done Tony! - and F16's superior engineering skills meant their raft was the only one to get back to the beach in one piece!
